Safe Boating Classes

The Safe Boating Classes taught by the Paris Landing Flotilla are two similar offerings:  The About Boating Safely, often simply referred to as ABS and the Tennessee State Boating Course.

ABS is a course that may be taken as a home study course which includes the textbook  or it may be an instructor led course.  This material, whether taken as a home study course or an instructor led version, does require a final exam given by an Auxiliary Instructor.  Students successfully completing  the exam will receive a certificate of completion that is recognized by all 50 states.

The Tennessee State Course is only offered as an instructor led offering.  Successful completion of this course like the ABS course is accepted by all of the states.  There are Tennessee specific procedures which must be followed before the course may be taught to an individual which includes purchasing a "tag" at any place that also sells Tennessee fishing licenses.
